Breath Perscription
Are Minds are Full of Busi-ness, stress weighs heavy on our joints, in our oragns, in our muscles and our structure. The art of Mind-Ful-Ness is a gentle process of becoming aware of self. Through witnessing we observe our inner world and can begin to transmute energy that causes heaviness and blockages.
Meditation is the calming of the internal storm. It systematically nourishes all systems of the body, promoting healing and slowing down the aging process. There are many traditions of Meditation providing us with many tools to adpot the one that resonate bests for us.
Our very essence and life stustaining breath is where we need to spend some more time. Having an intimate experience with your breath everyday. In my youth I suffered from Asthma and the feeling of the tightness contracting and loss of breath was terrifying, not to mention when panic would feed it. Early on through the exploration and benefits of Yoga I realized and could identify the "panic" and tap into a relaxed state and conscious complete full breath that would ultimately open my lungs and facilitate a deeper more expansive breath.
After having to take inhalers, which left me feeling shaky and dependent, it was becoming a vicious cycle. The appreciation for my new awareness was priceless, If you spend sometime with me in class it will be clear that breath is foundation. It is through breath that we move and connect and dance this cosmic journey. When we understand and explore breath we can direct this vital energy to light our being.
